PLANNING
The Planning Commission serves as an advisory board to the Charlotte County Board of Supervisors & is responsible for updating the county's comprehensive plan, reviewing county land use ordinances and evaluating various land use applications.  The Planning Commission meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the County Administrator's Office (250 LeGrande Avenue, Suite A, Charlotte Court House.) Meetings are held at 7:30 pm from March through October.  All other months, meetings begin at 7:00 pm.

NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT APPLICATION - MOODY CREEK SOLAR LLC

The Charlotte County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 7:30 pm or as soon thereafter as possible, at the Charlotte County Administration Office, 250 LeGrande Avenue, Suite A, Charlotte Court House, VA.  The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comment regarding Moody Creek Solar LLC’s conditional use permit application for a 150 megawatt utility scale solar energy system to be located on Route 47, Craftons Gate Highway, approximately 1.4 miles east of the intersection of Highway 360/15 and Route 47.   Included tax parcels, owned by Devin Logging Company / John A. Devin, Jr. & Armistead Tune Devin are 81-A-14, 81-A-15, 81-A-16, 81-A-17, 81-A-18, 81-A-19, 81-A-20, 87-A-1 and 87-A-14  and consist of approximately 1,683 acres.  The proposed facility would occupy approximately 829 acres, connecting to the Dominion Energy power grid through an existing transmission line.

ZONING
Charlotte County's Zoning Administrator works with the Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals to promote the health, safety, convenience and general welfare of the public through orderly development in the County. Responsibilities of the Zoning Administrator include providing technical assistance to  citizens and businesses and reviewing zoning permit applications, property divisions and subdivision plats to ensure they meet the requirements of all local ordinances.
